Effective August 5, 2026

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Bonnell Custom Software (“BCS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and retains information through bonnellsoftware.com and communications that begin through this website. It does not replace any separate agreement that may govern a customer project.

By using the website or submitting information, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. Submitting an inquiry does not create a customer relationship, require BCS to accept a project, or create an obligation to respond.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, business name if you provide it, phone number if you provide it through another communication method, and the information you choose to include about your process, problem, or proposed project. We also receive information contained in later emails, calls, texts, files, or other communications.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, requested pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic or security events. This information helps deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the website.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website does not currently use advertising cookies or behaviorally targeted advertising. Essential hosting, security, or network technologies may still be used to operate and protect the site. If our practices materially change, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.

How we use information

  • Respond to inquiries and communicate about possible or active work.
  • Understand business processes, evaluate project fit, and prepare requested information.
  • Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the website and our services.
  • Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity.
  • Maintain appropriate business, tax, insurance, and project records.
  • Enforce agreements, protect rights and property, and resolve disputes.
  • Comply with applicable law, legal process, and valid government requests.

We may use information for another purpose when you direct us to do so, consent to the use, or when the use is otherwise permitted by law.

How information may be disclosed

We may disclose information to hosting, email, security, storage, communications, accounting, legal, insurance, and other service providers that perform work for us. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services or as otherwise permitted by their own agreements and applicable law.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect the safety, rights, and property of BCS or others; investigate misuse; enforce an agreement; or complete a merger, financing, sale, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections where required.

Sale, targeted advertising, and profiling

BCS does not currently sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling. If these practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required opt-out method.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including evaluating and performing work, maintaining business records, satisfying legal or contractual obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting the website and business. Retention periods vary according to the type and sensitivity of the information and the reason it was collected. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or archives.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration will never occur.

Your choices and privacy rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you, or to provide information about how it has been used or disclosed. Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have additional rights, including rights to obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, opt out of certain disclosures, or appeal a decision concerning a request.

Send requests to mike@bonnellcs.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. We may retain information when permitted or required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
